Increasingly Penelope Moffet has felt a need to connect with others who think creatively,
whether that takes the form of words or action, or both. “The Future” is her first ghazal. It
was written as part of a recent workshop led by Dinah Berland on poetic form, and also
influenced by Penelope’s participation in the 2017 Community of Writers in Squaw Valley poetry workshop. Her recently-published poems can be found at Verse-Virtual, Levure Litteraire and Coiled Serpent: Poets Arising from the Cultural Quakes & Shifts of
