Rise Up Review
Moira Egan has published six collections of poetry; this poem is from the seventh, Synæsthesium, ekphrastic poems based on perfumes and on paintings. Her work has appeared in many journals in the U.S., Italy, and elsewhere. Having grown up in and around Catonsville, Maryland, with members of the Catonsville Nine and Catholic Worker activists as formative characters in her life, she has always believed that the personal is political.
